Woodford's Russell Harrop leaves

Posted by Jason Chapman in Fund and industry updates category on 05 Sep 14

The news of Russell Harrop leaving Woodford Investment Management was met with headlines such as "Woodfords right hand man leaving”.  Unsurprisingly, this news has been exaggerated by the press.

I have spoken with Woodford Investments and been assured that Russell Harrop was always on a rolling, temporary contract. Essentially, he was brought in to assist Neil until the arrival of the his long term investment management targets (Stephen Lamacraft, Paul Lamacraft and Saku Saha) became available. These gents worked with Neil at Invesco and were waiting for their gardening leave to finish before joining up with him again.
