Our friends at BNY Mellon have written an excellent guide on the subject of Investing for Women, which includes discussing the similarites and differences in the behaviour and approach to money between men and women.

The guide and short video also examine commonly held beliefs about women as investors and the roots of these beliefs. What is specific to women is the degree to which their role in wider society has shifted in the last few decades and this is reflected in the statistics.

Please note that the value of investments and the income from them is not guaranteed and can fall as well as rise. When you sell your investment you may get back less than you originally invested.

Sound financial planning is an important consideration for everyone, regardless of whether you are a man or woman. And the sorts of factors that may influence your decisions on investing are also the same: your attitude to investment risk, for example, or how much you can afford to invest and for how long.
