Manager Richard Bullas assumed full responsibility for this fund in September 2020 and is supported by Dan Green and Marcus Tregoning. Bullas has been a member of the close-knit Franklin UK Equities team since 2011. The investment process involves a broad social and economic overview to identify areas of opportunity. Quality companies are identified following an assessment of the business, management, and balance-sheet risks. In-house models are used to calculate financial metrics. Holdings in the fund are made up of constituents of the FTSE 250 ex Investment Trust Index which is a midcap index. As the fund mandate is unconstrained, the portfolio's sector allocations can look considerably different to the benchmark.
