Schroder European Z Acc

Willis Owen Research Commentary

The primary aim of this Focus 50 fund is capital growth. Martin Skanberg, who has been with Schroders since 2004, manages the fund primarily through stock picking, taking advantage of the company’s considerable Pan-European resources for analytical research. Factors taken into account include future estimates of growth, margins and returns on capital, implied market valuation and share-price behaviour. Skanberg takes a measured approach when constructing the fund, keeping a close eye on its positioning relative to the FTSE World Europe ex UK benchmark but with no formal constraints. He has no specific defined style, instead assessing each opportunity on its current merits, and we believe this should allow him to adapt to changing economic conditions.
