I left school at 16 and started my first full time job with Barclays Bank. I really did not know what I wanted to do as a career but working in a bank seemed like a safe job with good prospects.

This was the beginning of my financial services career. I worked on various different departments but the majority of my time was spent in Customer Services Department. It was there that I learned how to work as part of a team, communicate with clients and identify their needs, and my aim was always to help provide a friendly and professional service.

Barclays Bank then decided to centralise the Customer Service Department and unfortunately I was made redundant in 2005 after serving 17 years. It was then that I was lucky enough to be approached by Willis Owen with the offer to join their team. I started off with admin duties and then progressed to be part of the telephony team giving support and guidance to customers.

Although I have a Diploma in Pre-School Practice I decided to stay with Financial Services. I enjoy working with such a great team who are always there to help one another and keen to give our customers a welcoming and positive experience.

When I am not working I am busy looking after my two children, I seem to spend more and more time acting as a taxi for their busy social lives! When I get a bit of me time I enjoy meeting up with my family and friends and having a good catch up.
