After graduating with a degree in English from the University of Exeter, I had a few potential careers in mind but knew I wouldn’t be certain about any until I gave them all a go. One of these was digital marketing, due to its current relevancy and usefulness to almost all sectors, so when I spotted the vacancy at Willis Owen I felt excited to turn my aspiration into a reality. When I managed to get the job, I was over the moon as it felt like I was entering the world of work for the first time in a role that was ideal for me.
As a newer member of the Willis Owen team, my experience so far has been brilliant – the work allows me to bring the skills from my literary background to it as well as learn new things especially to do with technology and finances. Everyone here is kind, helpful and warm, it is such a positive environment. I feel like I have been really well looked after.
When I’m not working, I love to read (Birdsong is a recent favourite), watch films (my dissertation was on Buster Keaton) and enjoy long leisurely cycle rides.
