After graduating from university in 2010, I spent some time travelling before starting work at the Financial Ombudsman Service. This was a great stepping stone for me as it introduced me to the world of finance. My responsibilities were to assess insurance, banking and pension complaints by making a decision based on analysing related documentation and communicating the findings by phone and in writing. This was a valuable learning curve for me (having studied Pharmacology) and as a result I have come to familiarise myself with financial products and the associated regulations.
My time with the Financial Ombudsman Service was great but I was ready to move on for new challenges. I then had the opportunity to join Willis Owen as a research analyst – although this was an entirely new role compared to what I was used to, my previous job provided me with a good foundation and I am enjoying the new challenges presented.
I love going on holidays (Iceland is currently at the top of my recommendation list) – on my bucket list is a road trip in the States! In my spare time, I also enjoy playing badminton, escape rooms and have a slight addiction to Candy Crush…
