For the Special Situations fund, Martin Gray has been the lead manager since launch in 1998 and the investment philosophy and strategy has changed little over this period. Asset allocation is the main driver of returns, but within that Martin will always maintain a defensive core of assets for downside protection and reduced volatility. The remaining assets will express Martin’s economic and market views and the overall approach has proved to be very successful.
